Term 4
Welcome back. We hope you all had a relaxing break and are ready for a fun term!
In literacy we are reading the story of 'Letters from the Lighthouse' by Emma Carroll. This is a great story about a young girl who is evacuated to the countryside during World War 2 and the people she meets. The children will be writing their own version of a meeting story and using their knowledge of adjectives, adverbs and prepositions to make their stories interesting.
In science the children will be conducting a range of fun science experiments to build on their investigation skills. We will be finding out about how things dissolve, density of liquids as well as making our own mini lava lamps.
Our Topic is the 'History of Medicine'. We will be finding out about famous doctors and nurses, how medicines have changed which all link in with our trip to the hospital tunnels at Dover Castle.
Don't forget to make sure your child has their reading record signed every day and in school so they can get their reading certificates.
