Week 6 Challenges

A few weeks ago we looked at the book 'Sharing a Shell' which was set at the seaside. This week we are going to look at the book 'Commotion in the Ocean'by Giles Andrea. This book also has lots of rhyming words in it just like last weeks book 'Oi Frog'.

Commotion In The Ocean by Giles Andreae

Challenge One:

Can you find all the words that rhyme in the story and make a list of rhyming words. Remember from last weeks text that rhyming words are words that sound similar. For example, commotion and ocean.

Challenge Two:

Look through the book and pick a sea creature of your choice to make a 3d model of. You may like to investigate and find out some facts about this sea creature. Write down these facts to accompany your model.

Challenge Three:

Create your own port hole like in the story of 'Commotion in the Ocean'. What sea creatures would you like to see? You can be as creative as you like. You may like to write some sentences to say what sea creatures you can see through your port hole or you may even like to write a short story about an under water adventure.

Challenge Four:

Can you write some simple sentences to describe any similarities and difference between these different sea creatures?
