All education settings (including schools, colleges, and nurseries) must follow the statutory guidance set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education (as well as Working Together to Safeguard Children). Keeping Children Safe in Education clearly explains how to fulfil your safeguarding duties and promote the welfare of children. Like Working Together, ‘children’ refers to anyone under the age of 1.
Legislation came out in October 1st 2015 regarding smoking in enclosed vehicles. The legislation states (www.gov.uk)
‘It is illegal to smoke in a car (or other vehicle) with anyone under 18. The law changed on 1 October 2015, to protect children and young people from the dangers of second hand smoke.
Both the driver and the smoker could be fined £50. The law applies to every driver in England and Wales, including those aged 17 and those with a provisional driving licence’
