Attendance
Northdown Primary Academy is committed to the continuous raising of achievement of all our pupils. Regular attendance is critical if our pupils are to be successful and benefit from opportunities presented to them.
One of our basic principles is to celebrate success. Good attendance is fundamental to a successful and fulfilling school experience. We actively promote 100% attendance for all our pupils and we use a variety of weekly, termly, and annual awards to promote good attendance and punctuality.
The Governors, Head Teacher, and staff, in partnership with parents, have a duty to promote full attendance at Northdown Primary School. Our school will give a high priority to conveying to parents and pupils the importance of regular and punctual attendance. We recognise that parents have a vital role to play and there is a need to establish strong home-school links and communication systems that can be utilised whenever there is a concern about attendance. If there are problems that will affect a pupil’s attendance we will investigate, identify and strive, in partnership with parents and pupils, to resolve those problems quickly and as efficiently as possible. We will adapt a clearly focused approach aimed at returning the pupil to full attendance at all times.
If you are experiencing any difficulty with attendance please contact our attendance officer, Katie Rogers, at the school office.
