This term we are starting a new topic called 'Colours of the World'. We will be using the book Kensuke's Kingdom as our core text; it follows the journey of a family as they travel the world, but disaster strikes when Michael and Stella are thrown overboard and land on a deserted island. This is a great transition unit to help prepare them for secondary school.
In term six we will be focusing on geography and map skills, the children will also be learning about the human body in Science, learning about puberty, our anatomy and the process of reproduction. In maths we will be completing a project on theme parks, where the children will look at area and perimeter, profit and loss and need to apply the four operation strategies to real problems.
We will also be completing autobiographies this term which children will be able to take home at the end of the year. This will mean they will need to keep up to date with the homework we give out for this, so they have a completed book for the end of the year.
The children will also be learning songs, practising dances and rehearsing our end of year play over the next few weeks.
