Term 2 - A Dog's Purpose
What a fantastic topic we have this term...all about dogs!
Year six are currently reading a book called 'A Dog's Purpose' by W. Bruce Cameron which is all about a dogs life. (It's also a great film!)
Within our topic we will also be learning about WW1 and WW2 and the roles that dogs played in these and how they supported our country.
We will also be learning about how dogs still continue a service to humans in many different ways, such as guide dogs, fire rescue dogs and medical assistance dogs.
We have had a very successful term in year six, with some children demonstrating their knowledge and abilities using the four operations (multiplication, division, addition and subtraction).
We have worked on some challenging reasoning activities in which children need to really think about what a question is asking them to do and always explain their answers.
We have also be learning about fractions, how to multiply, divide, add and subtract fractions.
What is a fraction?
Who can remember what happens when you multiply a fraction?
