All pupils at Northdown Primary are divided into five houses, each one representing one of our core values. Every day each child can earn pride points to contribute towards their house. At the beginning of each week we will celebrate the winning house in our celebration assembly.
Welcome to Term 6.
This term we are reading Frankenstein as our core text. This has proven to be very popular! We are writing a narrative and will be writing a persuasive letter to convince the villagers that we are not such a bad guy!
We are working hard at practising our maths skills such as fractions, decimals and shape.
In science and topic we are learning about electricity and moving models.
This term is also our sports day (see dates) so we are all practising our skills to help our team win.
Mr Kirkby and Mrs Shaw
Term five is going to be an exciting and full term.
We are looking at Australia for our topic and we are reading Walkabout; a book about two American siblings who get stranded in the Australian Outback after their plane crashes.
We are looking at the multiplication and division, fractions, mass, measurement and perimeter.
During Literacy we will be writing a narrative, creating a non-chronological report about Australia and writing a letter about the adventures of the two siblings in the Outback.
Homework will be on a Friday. Maths will be due back on the following Monday and the spelling test will be the following Monday also.
PE is every Friday. A white t-shirt will be provided for each child.
Learning together afternoon
The Year 4 learning together afternoon will be this Friday from 2.15pm until 3.15pm. Please do come along and help your child make a poppy for our Remembrance Display.
