Mr Kirkby, Mrs Shaw
Term one is going to be an exciting and full term.
We are looking at Around the World for our topic and we are reading Kensuke's Kingdom; a tale of adventure on a desert island!
We are lucky enough to have made contact with a school in New York and will be swapping letters and paintings. We will also write our names in Japanese, create a haiku and look at different countries.
Maths will concentrate on place value, the four operations (addition/subtraction/division and multiplication), properties of shape and fractions.
During Literacy we will be writing a narrative, creating a leaflet for surviving on a desert island and reporting on the disappearance of Michael, the main character in Kensuke's Kingdom.
Homework will be on a Friday. Maths will be due back on the following Monday and the spelling test will be the following Friday.
PE is every Friday. A white t-shirt will be provided for each child.
