Art work will focus on Andy Goldsworthy and in CDT we will be creating different animal homes. Our topic work will be the wonderful world around us.
Term 4 we have been using the story Bog Baby as our core text. Firstly we all went out in the school grounds to find the Bog Baby as he had gone missing. We looked on the school field, around the pond, in the forest school and eventually we located him in the mud kitchen hiding in a saucepan! During this term we will be using time connectives, asking questions and exclamation marks. In numeracy we are using multiplication and division, addition and subtraction. This week we are working on time, days of the week, months of the year, seasons, telling the time to an hour and half hour. In science we are looking at habitats and why they are important to creatures and how we must not disturb them. Also we have identified common British birds, categorizing, size, colour, diet and habitat. We have sorted common animals by their diet, carnivore, herbivore or omnivore. Today we have looked at the life cycles of a frog and ordered them correctly by their stages. In art and design we have used collage materials, paint and pattern.
For world book day we had a visit from Gwyneth Rees who writes childrens stories about mermaids, fairies and a cat called Cosmo.
