As soon as your child has started nursery we will begin to gather information about him/her in the form of an early years profile. During his/her first half term we will carry out a parent conference.
This will be a discussion between a member of staff and the child’s parents in order to find out what the child enjoys doing at home, any special interests they may have and any concerns parents may have about their child’s development. A written record of this discussion will be sent home in the form of a report. During the period of time that your child attends the nursery staff will keep a written profile detailing their interests, any significant steps in their development and their general attitude towards learning. We will keep samples of childrens’ artwork to help show the progress they are making.
All this information will help us to plan the topics and activities we offer to the children. At the end of your child’s nursery education at Northdown Nursery you will receive a written nursery school report, which will outline your child’s progress during their time with us.
